Vineyards and Harvest:
Night breezes swept up the Sacramento delta and bathed the Arrow Creek Pinot Noir vineyards with cool air from the Pacific Ocean while warm sunny days caressed the vines to bring their harvest to world-class perfection. These unique climactic factors are essential components of the award-winning Arrow Creek wines.
Wine Description:
Ripe cherry aromas with undertones of vanilla and chocolate are the dominant aromas in this classically structured Pinot Noir. Soft tannins and gentle acidity provide a firm, yet appealing backbone for this stellar wine.
Food Pairing:
Enjoy this Pinot Noir with roasted chicken, grilled salmon or rich cheeses.
Winemaking:
After removing the stems, the whole, uncrushed grapes were brought to the red wine cellar where fermentation took place in temperature-controlled tanks. Gentle pump-overs allowed for an extraction of color and flavor from the skins during fermentation. The tanks were pressed off slightly before conclusion of fermentation in order to minimize seed tannins.
Tasting Notes:
Aromas of blackberry and cherry are coupled with silky tannins and a juicy, vibrant acidity. The mid-palate is intense and segues seamlessly into the long and supple finish. Soft in texture with a velvety finish, this wine sings with aromas of ripe cherries and subtle hints of autumnal cranberries. The finish is long, the palate harmonious.
