Vineyards and Harvest:
The vineyards for this Pinot Grigio are located primarily in the lush fields of the San Joaquin Valley, otherwise known as California’s breadbasket. The vines thrive in the mild Mediterranean climate with warm days and cool nights. Long known for award-winning and enjoyable wines, the Central Valley is emerging as one of the world’s leaders in quality wine production.
Wine Description:
Although originally at home in northern Italy and France’s Burgundy region, Pinot Grigio has found splendid growing conditions in California’s verdant and fertile Central Valley. This wine has rich aromas of tropical fruit balanced with a hint of natural grape sweetness. The palate reigns with rich, crisp flavors that do homage to its European roots. The finish is elegant, delicate and long.
Food Pairing:
A great accompaniment for roast turkey and fingerling potatoes.
Winemaking:
The whole grapes were delicately crushed and placed in the wine press. The aromatic juice was sent to temperature-controlled fermentation tanks where the sweet juice transformed into rich wine.
Tasting Notes:
Bright citrus aromas on the nose are accentuated by flavors of a crisp Braeburn apple, heightened by the essence of ripe melon.
