Vineyards and Harvest:
The vineyards for this Merlot are located primarily in the San Joaquin Valley. Grown on fertile soils, the vines thrive in the mild Mediterranean climate. Long known for award-winning and enjoyable wines, the Central Valley has emerged as one of the world’s leaders in quality wine production.
Wine Description:
Friendly aromas of Bing cherries lead into rich flavors and a long, silky finish. The palate is dense, the tannins smooth and the flavors intense.
Food Pairing:
Enjoy alongside grilled mixed vegetables, margarita pizza, or a hearty beef stew.
Winemaking:
Fully mature Merlot grapes were night-harvested and brought to the winery where they were gently de-stemmed and fermented for eight days. Gentle pressing preceded stainless cask maturation until bottling.
Tasting Notes:
Aromas of cherries with a hint of French oak provide the structure for the densely rich palate. The tannins are long and silky, with a finish influenced by gentle, natural fruit acidity.
